Brand New Music: Kleptomaniacs feat Ulopa – Psycho

Its NMT on GetMziki, NMT – New Music Tuesdays, it seems I get all new music on Tuesdays, both western and Localz. Only that I don’t get to listen to the songs until much later so I cant publish until the following day.

I got this song yesterday, but i’d heard it a few days ago – initially I thought this was a collaboration between P-SQUARE and KLEPTOMANIACS. I knew the song was a sure shot – there was no doubt about it, and then something phenomenal happened. Ulopa name dropped his track branding ID a few times… Before I realized it, the hook was actually being performed fully by Ulopa!!!

I’ve said it over and over again Ulopa Ngoma is probably the next production house in Kenya to watch out for, but with this T-PAIN Esq approach where he actually dabs into the track, sings the hook and mimics P-Square or a Nigerian artist to me I think its just phenomenal. This track is killer, killer club song, killer car song, killer party song… KLEPTO never disappoint, I think as a rule Klepto should stick to doing songs together, Nyash by himself and Collosh by himself and Roba on his own is nothing compared to when they all come together to do such work.

LISTEN TO THIS SONG its on FIRE.. ON FAYA.. FAYA ME FAYA ME ha ha ha..

By every means. This is probably a chart topper…For a long time.

Everything to this joint is perfect. Its a perfect ladies song, club song, radio joint, top 40 etc etc. It pretty much covers every aspect that it intended to very well.Including language barrier. This is definitely an international joint, with the right support behind it..

    1.Beat-10
    2.Hook-10
    3.Lyrics and overall flow-10
4.Bridge-100…Lol..The bridge to this song is the most fun part to me.It almost wants to be the clymax, but its not. Perfect.

Please do a video and you’ll break even more barriers.
I’ll definitely support this joint hardcore…Don’t stop the music..Keep it coming.

Cruising at a “Do Me” BPM of kedo 105, this track is a definite Club-banger. I love the fact that its “longish” {They knew peeps would love it I guess!} although there’s a whole 20 sec silence at the end. {It’s probably a post-production non-ulopa error}. Right from the intro where there’s a “nameless-ish” Eeeeeehhh, then DEP’s “kleptomaniacs..Iii ni hit!” the vocals are crisp and well mastered EXCEPT during the hooks where the back-ups {Aa la la la la} are in serious compe {Volume Levels} with “You make me go psycho, psycho…” Defeats the meaning of the word “back-up” right? I really hate to do this…but I hear EVERYTHING in a jingle and I hate to bust bubbles..especially when kila mtu is highly praising this tune. The truth is, the hi-hats are subdued. Chini ya maji sana. Maybe Ulopa had a style for this but, any DJ would quickly ongezea the Hi’s kidogo when sliding in this song. Lakini, Psycho is still hot and climbing in my charts! Ulopa is the LeBron James of drum-sequencing…Big-up.

Tha album is called NITT so everyone run and get ur own copy don’t wait to be told whatz inside.

  26. Roddy says:

Nice, wanauza wapi hiyo record in the States, definitely wanna listen to it. One of the biggest grip with some kenya artist is that they don’t have distributing outlets majuu. I had to call at home to get Jua Cali’s Ngeli ya Genge. Bigup to Nonini, his album will be easy to get. Speaking of Ulopa there is an article on Nation newspaper website and he says he’s working on Tatuu and DNA’s album, hopefully there are better songs than “Lets Go” ama Niaje JIgger LOL

  27. Roddy says:

I’m writing this @ 12:32pm in Philly and listening to CapitalFm (Eve’s Show) and whose are the guest…Yes Klepto are in studio. They reveal the album is not out yet, they are planning on a private listening party soon. (Kwa nini nyi mlikuwa mnatupandisia eti the album is out, wacheni hizo Jo LOL). Something they also said was that this was the final album as a group.

  28. Roddy says:

The above comment from me i talked about the Klepto album listening session, well they had it on thursday (April 2nd). Now from the invited radio Djs assessment, they did have alot of good news to report…before i put my stamp on their album would sure like to listen to it
