Its a new month and a new “Streets are Mine” music showcase, where we showcase various artists and music bumping hard in the streets, radio and clubs. A usual some of the songs have been featured here on GetMziki while others are world premiers that have literally been “stolen from the studio”.
One of the songs that Dj Dan Mixa world premier’s on the Jul 09 “Streets are Mine” edition is the song “Make Doo (Get Paid) by Jua Cali Feat STL that is so brand new that even your local radio stations has not world premiered it. Also, Included in the mix are several tracks from various Kenyan artists based overseas creating that “best of both worlds” international mix. I said it b4 on this site Kenyan Urban Gospel Music is taking the industry over by storm…a few examples….this yr apart from maybe the soon to come MTV Mama Award…The Grove Awards is the only other awards event worth mentioning….I was @ Safari 7s at the after party this Gospel Kats killed the show! I’ve never seen drunk people sing Gospel music word for word on a dancefloor….Kenyan Gospel music has the market penetrated mad style! Last Dec they held an New years party that sold out like wks b4 the event! Kudos to them…And lets not mention Kanji’s album launch @ Carni…impressive as hell! Ignorance is bliss don’t hate just coz u dont get it!
