Brand New: Lobo, UB & Kenrazy – Fuata Ndoto yako

Ive had this song for a while but due to my hectic schedule lately I have been unable to update the site – hopefully my team has managed updates as much as they could. That said, I got this track from a guy called Lobo, UB and Kenrazy. Its an interesting track – Ive heard of UB back in the day from Ukoo Fulani and that whole Mau Mau Camp and of course Kenrazy has been hitting the local scene since his Tichi hit. Maybe someone can shed some light on who LOBO is.

I kinda like this track, its not a club banger – but its definitely a car banger and something you can listen to on a lose friday on your way to the club. I threw in the instrumental and accapella for the DJs to go crazy with it. Enjoy the track,..

Brand New: Kenrazy feat Kizob – Kicheche

Honestly when DJ Kelz sent me this track from the Jomino camp I was like aight aight here comes some interesting collabo between Razy and Bongo artist Kizob. I really didn’t think much about the track itself I was more interested in who Kizob is… It seems Tanzania is churning out a new artist every month, so to me this collabo sits on the fence simply because I don’t know who Kizob is, but that’s not an excuse.

I think the track is not balanced – am not sure who is carrying the beat better Kenrazy or Kizob, overall I cant see this track living outside this blog. I will be surprised if this song has blown up or if it will blow up to be compared to Tichi standards. Kicheche is a lose lose chile – its Tanzanian slang that has sipped its way into Sheng and ive heard a few people talking about Kicheche here and there. That said though my personal opinion is that this track is still wanting – missing something. I am also concerned about Jomino – the beats sound too similar, the fruits not falling so far from the tree with these signature beats. Can Jomino reinvent himself? Can something different come out of that kitchen? I dont know but i find the whole beat mapping thing too similar in all Jomino tracks.

Either way enjoy the track here:

Brand New: Kenrazy, DNA, Kaya – Mziki (GetMziki Exclusive***)

When Danny dropped this track on my laps today, I wanted to sit on it and wait for a little while, but jama!!! the more I listen to this song am amazed at the different talents in Kenya. This track definitely sounds JOMINO-ish (actually very Banjuka reloaded ish). You cant mistake the production style, but needless to say the hook, the flow, the collaboration and the delivery is off the chains.

I am definitely hooked on to DNA’s voice, that cat should have been a radio presenter – deep voiced MC in Kanye “East” Shades, his image has been up to par and he seems to maintain his artist credibility at all times. To me if you are an artists you need to be in character at all times in order to maintain your image – and those white shades were at some point synonymous with DNA (Mr. Banjuka). KenRazy for me still has a lot to do to prove himself as an artists, I drew close similarities between him and JuaCali after Tichi – but consistency has been an issue… Kaya is an artist I am not familiar with but I am hoping with time I will get fairly acquainted with his music.

We have a lot more music ready for December since we want to push all 2008 material out the door before the end of the year. We also will do a countdown for the hottest songs and artists of 2008. But for now enjoy this song – its on FIRE… Play it a few more times..

Usikatsie NGOMAAAAA!!
