Madtraxx – Get Down (GetMziki Exclusive ***)
We’ve been holding this song for a few months now at the request at Madtraxx and his team while they work to complete the video. It looks like the video just dropped last night so we are able to release this crazy banger. Through this genius work its evident that Madtraxx is growing as a producer, the instrumentation on the production seemingly has increased and in essence there is a level of keyboarding that stands out on this track compared to other tracks that he has produced in the past.
The first time I heard this banger I knew it will be a hit. I didn’t hide my enthusiasm as I emailed/texted Georgie to tell him what I thought. I still believe this will be a summer song in Kenya given proper airtime and proper exposure. The climax of this song can only be experience best through the crazy video produced by Luche (Clemo’s brother). Towards the end, Madtraxx yells out the different dance routines that are popular in Kenya, the video does enough justice of bringing this in and showing the current pop dance trends in the country. By far I think Mosquitoe is the most hilarious dancing style.
Either way – lets kick in the week with this exclusive track – enjoy

Madtraxx feat Porgie, DJ Stylez, Frasha, Prezzo, Sanaa, Collo, Bamzigi, Nameless, Amp.. – Big Shot (Remix) (GetMziki Exclusive ***)

Let me make a few things clear – there is a track thats being held hostage by me called GET DOWN by MADTRAXX that track is fire. I was given to sample the goodness and honestly my hands and fingers are itchy to release it. Madtraxx composed this track sometime last year but its part of his upcoming album so he asked as to “please” hold it for a moment while they wrap up the album – but that NGOMA is FIYAAAAH.
SIDE NOTE: Madtraxx, I heard that track on a mix DJ Joe put together, am beginning to feel very un-exclusive George, and thats not a good thing ..*smiles* // I thought GetMziki was a “Big Deal”
Moving right along – it seems this is the month of the mega remixes. It may appear everyone is trying to out do the other with how many artists you can get on a remix. Rumor has it this track had so many heavy weights that the original song was actually TEN minutes long. CodeRed then decided to cut the track down in order to keep it radio worthy. If this is true I would like to get my hands on the original ten minute song, real talk FRANCO and akina LES WANYIKA performed tracks for 13 minutes so whats 10 minutes. Lets sample the goodness and let us make the decisions of who should have stayed and who didnt deserve to be on the track.
My take on this remix – FRASHAAAAAAA!!! He killed it – everyone else wasn’t really necessary, especially Sanaa and Nameless, I mean I get it but nah…these vocalist should have been on their own. Like an R&B version of BIG SHOT… However that FRASHA guy.. WAAA!!… FRASHA killed it, PREZZ came out okay not as powerful as he did in the Chapaa remix. Collo was just okay… BUT BAMZY ha ha ha ha … I cant lie actually if it wasn’t for the fact that I haven’t heard anything from Bamzy for a while I really woulda been like this cat sounds like Bamzy. Getting Bamzy on this track was probably the highlight of the track (and the highlight of my year). I mean I just miss the whole NAZ, Bamzy, Wyre – ama its just me??? I appreciate the fact that he just bared his all, he gets real on the track ” took too much coke now am clean.. I want my old spot” I love that … Bamzy.. congratulations on the recovery.. looking forward to the supermans return…
Anyway listen to this BIG SHOT. THIS IS INDEED A BIG SHOT REMIX –

Prezzo feat Madtraxx – Unataka Nini? (GetMziki Exclusive ***)

So here is note to self, if anyone ever thought that MADTRAXX was just an artist or DJ, well I think we should just add producer to the list. I knew he had produced BIG SHOT but I didnt think much about BIG SHOT from a production perspective anyway. When this song was dropped over our offices today and labelled Madtraxx production I had to give it a second listen, and then a third, and then a fourth.
Honestly Madtraxx is on his A game right now on many levels – but I think more than MADTRAXX I would have to say its Prezzo that I am feeling on this track. Many guys don’t really understand PREZZO, and quite frankly I dont think anyone has to. I’ve spent numerous moments with Prezz and he is just one of those cats if you get him you get him if you don’t you don’t. Prezz is a cool cat, I especially like his swagger. I think I have talked about him to so much on this blog that it makes no sense to keep going on and on about him. The fact is for many people who had thought that from a musical career stand point he is done. I think this track the and lyrical delivery and content help restore faith in his demeanor.
On this track he goes hard.. Play close attention to the lyrical content – his rapping style seems to have changed slightly to accommodate the fast paced track that Madtraxx put together. Indeed the King of Bling is back.

I am throwing in this track here because Ive never really posted it and it was one of my top 5 tracks in 2004/05. The video directed by Ted Josiah was also a killer concept. Seeing Styles play a thug and Prezz acting like he big dogg was hilarious. Robe the CMB V.P gets nicked by Stylez crew and then beat up hilarious. Whats really cool about the video concept is that as much as the character depiction was a little over the top, the language and style they communicate was still hood, still African, still Kenyan.. I loved that. When Prezzo hungs up the phone after talking to Stylez.. you hear him say “maze wame shika vice president jo!” priceless moment on that Video.

Madtraxx – Big Shot (GetMziki Exclusive **)

We’ve covered MadTraxx on GetMziki over and over again, I think with all the tracks released over the last 3 years the kid is ready to compile an album. I think its unfortunate that most of these Kenyan artists are caught up in the whole Nameless singles phenomenon but maybe there is a strategy and I am just failing to see it at this point and time.
Honestly think about it, all Kenyan artists you have listened to over the last 8 months are singles, none of these artists actually has an album or has a plan to release an album. Unless someone wants to prove me different I am yet to see a Madtraxx, Mejja, Jimwat or Joint Ya Chava album. Am just being real. Am not saying its a bad strategy am just saying by the time the album gets here everyone has all the tracks they need. However on the flip side Nameless made millions going on tour and performing his tracks before he compiled his album. This allowed him to bank more on performance sales than Album sales (which i think went to Ogopa). So maybe its okay to have a string of singles that allow you to stand on stage – rant and rave.
I am conflicted about this song, it feels so cookie cutter. In a world where I have always raved about George’s (Madtraxx) ingenius tracks, catchy hooks and inventive dance routines – I feel like this is such a dupped formatted hit. It feels so Jango – so Walanguzi, so BigPin like.. Its bound to be a hit just because of the song format and composition but not because its exceptional. I am not sure what you guys think – so ill open it up.. The song is on heavy rotation right now on Kenyan radio stations… give it a listen.

Mejja vs Madtraxx (GetMziki FACEOFF – Who did it better) – Poa

We have been toying the idea about starting a new feature called FACEOFF which will put two artists toe to toe on a basic poll. The idea is not to discredit one artist vs the other but rather to measure the value of different music against one another based on sound, lyrical flow, composition and song writing. Please let us know what you think about this feature as the site generally progresses.
To start off this feature we will showcase these two new tracks, one by Mejja titled “Niko Poa” and the other by Madtraxx titled “Poa” (Kamko Poa). The Mejja track is slightly newer so not too many people are bound to have heard it. But either way Clemos capabilities are clearly heard through the track – putting that against a similarly titled track (Madtraxx – Poa) that has been killing radio for a few months only seems right.
Please place your vote, let us know what you think… which of the two sounds better

Lyrical Assassins feat Everyone!! – Piga saluti (remix)

Calvo has become one of my good friends and comrades- we chat every once often. One thing I like about these cats is how they have used the Internet to push their music. If you are on facebook, you will find a new video or a new update every once often from Lyrical Assassins. That being said if you were ever going to do a collabo of sorts this is how you would go about it – put “everyone” on it
This is the remix to Piga Saluti which we posted a few months back – but the remix is sick look at this list of heavy weights blessing the remix
- Jahmani
- Nickdogg
- KillerSyles
- Opips
- Madtraxx
- Jirongi & Jardell
Shit – this is official, you need to listen to the lyrics (BEATS na SNAYAAAA – snare).

I thought I should add one of my favorite videos from one of my favorite shows also – WAKILISHA which is a BLACKSTAR producshizzle jumps of on NTV – they carried this feature that Calvo was good enough to record and post online…. Check it out.. HOODPASSPORT – Lyrical Assassins
Exclusive: Mejja, Madtraxx, Jimwat – Mezesha ***
Ive been meaning to post this song for a long time but I had too much going on and somehow I lost the track in my mailbox. I will continue to salute this dynamic trio for as long as they keep making good music. Somehow I have a strange feeling that they are working on an album, if that’s the case for what its worth I will be the first to get the first copy. Their first hit track Round hii was just sick, I played that song until my ipod died.
I never thought I would see the day Georgie would be an artist, but I knew he would be one of the best DJs in Kenya. Mejja and Jimwatt just add to this lyrical battle and Clemo keeps closing in the phat beats… Mezesha is a song on steroids.. I cant get it to stop playing on my ipod – Keep up the good work gentlemen.. Keep it up.
