It’s another session of mixtape Fridays. This week we feature upcoming artist Dora who debut’s at Getmziki with a strong showing The Anthem.

From her posted bio, which I copied and pasted just to make sure I get everything correct. Dora was born in Nairobi, Kenya on October 22nd 1994. Born and Bred in Nairobi the ‘city of contrasts’. Dora took her the world around her and formed it into words, words that later on became poetry and poetry that formed into song. Her love for music transpired into her love for musical instruments and thus she begun to learn various instruments including the violin, clarinet, piano and the guitar. Dora started working with up and coming rapper/producer/singer Dan “Sanjei” Karan in 2011. She started of as a singer and has built her skills from picking up what goes on behind the scenes and has now branched off into what she calls flow-etry (flow and poetry) better known as rap. Her ability to Inco-operate an Afric

an vibe into modern music, be it hip-hop, r’n’b has definitely put her in a league of her own. Weather she is in front of a microphone behind the camera or composing a masterpiece on the keyboard. She strives to be the best at what she does and so far she has not fallen short of that promise.

The 18 year old, Kenyan rapstress gives it all on the song sampled from The Kenyan National anthem for a potential single. Khaligraph Jones, who’s in my opinion one of the top 10 freshmen in Kenya right now, hops on the track with a verse that reasserts his rap dominance. Is it just me or did anybody else have the same feeling of “this track needs a third verse”. Hey, there’s a reason why we have remixes.

Keep up the hustle Dora. Will this be the single that get things moving for Dora?

Feeling it? Then keep it locked on GetMziki for the latest.
