So this is Sir Prestige’s next project so I have to be very careful with how I go about making this post. First because Patrick (aka Prestige) is a good friend lol second because knowing Prestige and his previous successes ala ESTELLE in the UK if I say some shit about Ajabu I will end up regretting a few years if not months from today. So I will keep this simple and focused on the product and not the perceptions.
Off the top of my head this TRACK is crazy in terms of production (of course its produced by PRESTIGE) – I however think Ajabu could have come much better especially as a debut track. Her hook seems to be lacking in my humble opinion and I have enough time to digest the track since I go it. To be honest I can tell she can flow so the lyrical composition wasn’t the problem I think the challenge often with artists trying to break from overseas is finding that balance to be authentic and still maintain their new modified cultures acquired while living abroad.
Either way I like the track – its catchy and can grow on you, I am not sure if folks would play this in a club but definitely an ipod chaser and car thumper.
ps. Ajabu is cake though I would be willing to compromise on the music for a date lol speaking of which I understand they have a killer collabo with STL, Prestige why don’t you sambaza that to my inbox. It would be a dream come true to have two cakes on a cover in my books…
