Bamboo hit me up last week to briefly update me on this plans for Kenya. Its official he is headed back to the mother land for a few months as he works on re-aligning some of the work he has been working on while in Atlanta for the last several years. I love who Bamboo is today, even though he will always be one of the most misunderstood people/artists to have ever lived.
To accompany his trip is this joint that they released last week appropriately titled “Mrembo”. The track is a fast paced groove put together by producer Sir Keggah who has doubled up as a relentless producer trying to expand the sound of music into this contemporary zone that I think is untapped today. Ideally Bamboo does what he does best and delivers on the promise of catchy lyrics talking up some mama.
I think the track could have had a bigger kick but for most part I think it delivers what was expected – enjoy
