Kenyan by decent, Mumbi pays homage to Kenya, Botswana and the United States for having raised her. She has travelled the world over and thus speaks a global tongue; acquiring an appreciation for beauty, art and deep love for Music. Her artistic beginnings were at age 16 when she won the South Western Inter-State Talent competition for her own published and performance composition. Now, more acute with a deeper knowledge of the music industry, she is preparing to pursue her greatest love. Her main musical influences are Brenda Fassie, Erykah Badu, Beyoncé, Adele, Lauryn Hill and Yvonne Chaka Chaka. Mumbi is the definition of trend and adoration! Her music is a blend of African house, Soul and RnB-Hip Hop. Currently recording her long awaited E.P – Mumbi. “For The Culture,” she will sure be the anchor for women with a steadfast conviction of their zealous feminism and empowerment, through her music whichever the season.
