I finally got my hands on this exclusive new NONINI track called Kumbuka. ITS SICK!!! And am not just saying that because I know Nonini, but for the first time I feel like I can relate to the memories and lyrical content on this track. Nonini takes folks back in time mentioning things that I personally experienced, things I lived through and things I often sit down and reminisce about.
This is one of those joints that we will be listening to for a long time, over and over again. I had forgotten about Music Time, I had forgotten about Club Jungle… (Nonini ulisahau kuweka Brili, Holly Mbao, Visions and most important Club Boom). I don’t want to drain this track by talking it up, so I will let you all enjoy the track first and then get back at me… KAMERO!!!
// on a personal note I want to commend Nonini for embracing the Internet. I recently commented on his attempt to create NONINI MUSIC.COM, and explore online music distribution options. We are currently working on a few things together but all in all it would be nice if most Kenyan artists would travel to the US and leave the US having left something as meaningful as Nonz did. Last time I checked – Nameless left the US and didn’t leave even a single behind… I know Logombaz are working on a new album, but there is no place to get that information from. I know DNA has a new song, P-Unit and all these great artists but there is just no outlet.
I always admire artist who make bold moves… // “Tushauriane tafadhali”
