Since we have many readers from across the world, I’ll start off the post with a small “Bio”. Suzanna Owiyo is a Kenyan musician who has been called “the Tracy Chapman of Africa”. Her music is a fusion of traditional western Kenyan music and contemporary rhythms. She’s know to incorporate traditional instruments (nyatiti, orutu, etc) in her songs making her a crowd puller on various shows that she’s done across the world. Owiyo was also part of the “Divas of The Nile” supergroup, that featured Mercy Myra, Achieng Abura and Princess July a while back.
Currently working on her 3rd studio album, Suzanna Owiyo enlists the King of Genge, Jua Cali on a single dubbed Matatu (Beba Beba). I wanna know what people out there think of the track.
