Viola Karuri calls herself an Afro pop singer. From her bio at violakaruri.com “she started singing at an early age in school choral productions. While in High School, she and some friends formed a girl group called “Sobriety” that comprised of 5 girls. After completing high school, the group was signed by a Record Company – Shielton Entertainment (now TruBlaq Entertainment) – and were in the process of recording their first album when Viola received her acceptance into the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In January 2001, Viola moved to Boston to pursue an education in Music. While there, she schooled with Kenyan artist Eric Wainaina and toured with him promoting his Award-winning album, “Sawa Sawa”.
Viola best describes the song. “Milele is a love song that was inspired by an eavesdropping situation. My gals and I had gone out and we overheard this guy throwing some major lines at this woman. We even stopped talking because of how good they were! So this song is my imagined version of their story!
Relaxed, top down music . Great, great track.. loving it!
